December 12, 2003, Newsletter Issue #104: Some eye opening talk on doll eyes

Tip of the Week

The manufactures of these eyes do not advise placing in direct sunlight or high heat. We can not recommend using these in most circumstances.

Years ago when I started to make dolls I used plastic eyes. I no longer do. I have changed most of my dolls to glass. Please aviod disapointment do it right the first time.

Options use can choose from.

Karl glass eyes are blown glass and have the look of antique dolls. Glass paperweight are made in all types with Hand Glass English being the top of the line in quality, and price . Oval glass eyes come in various types, with some available in a flat back. Use caution as some do have a paper iris and may discolor. We have not gotten
feedback from our customers that this is occuring.

You may some of them here.
