If you travel to shows, label and number each piece of a rack, or shelving unit you assemble. Write directions matching the numbers in the correct order to assemble the part. Makes it easier in the rush of the show.

Blush with Dry China Paint

When attending a class recently I learned to apply dry paint when blushing. Use a flat edged brush dipped in medium and dry china paint, first run the brush lightly through the paint and then the cheeks, stroking from the center, out. The brush should have enough medium not to drag over the greenware but not dripping.

Slip Freezing

Slip should not be allowed to freeze. Years ago freight companies could guarantee that the slip shipment would be protected from freezing, this is not the case today and companies have found it is best to check slip supplies before winter months. You must also think how the the slip is being shipped as there is a change for a early freeze and a late freeze, so give yourself time for the slip to get to you before the cold weather sets in.

Assembly Problems

Ready to assemble your doll only to find you forgot to make a hole in the shoulder plate to hold it onto the body? If you need a quick fix, put ribbon or twill in neck hole and sew it to the body. Later you can redo the shoulder plate with all the holes.
